U.K. SUBS' JAPANESE EARTHQUAKE DISASTER FUND

Yuko now has a 'Japanese earthquake relief fund' donation box at her merchandise stall at every Subs gig. Please continue to support the fund with any donation you can - however big or small. The news on the aftermath of the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster may have been sidelined by the British media, but please don't forget that the effects will be felt by those who suffered it for years to come.
Jet himself has now expressed his wish that, "...if any Subs fans would like to donate, but can't make it to any of our gigs, then please donate via the Japanese Red Cross..."

Many organisations worldwide are collecting money to help fund the continuing relief effort in Japan. The Red Cross is the key aid organisation, collecting donations for relief efforts and the Japanese branch of the organisation was overseeing around 80 teams on the ground soon after the earthquake and tsunami struck, donations can also be taken at branches around the world.Merch desk with Japanese relief fund box - all photos by Jet - click to enlarge

Time & Matter website will be donating all profits from the sale of a forthcoming U.K. Subs Double DVD and a 7" single they are releasing to help a family in Japan - more news of which soon...
The band would like to thank everyone so far who has popped some money into the fund-box on Yuko's merch stall. The SetBacks, who supported the Subs at their 21st May Bristol gig, kindly donated the money they made from any sales of their CD, their stickers and badges to the Japanese earthquake relief fund! The band and Yuko would like to acknowledge this wonderful gesture.

Disaster in Japan, March 2011

Following the recent horrific events in Japan, in which U.K. Subs guitarist Jet was present, but survived, Charlie and Yuko have asked for the following information to be made available on the Time & Matter homepage:

How to donate to the Japan relief effort:

Many relief organisations worldwide are collecting money to help fund the relief effort in Japan after the earthquake and tsunami. The Red Cross is the key aid organisation, collecting donations for relief efforts and the Japanese branch of the organisation was overseeing around 80 teams on the ground, but donations are being taken at branches around the world.

You can make online donations through the BRITISH RED CROSS or you can download donation forms to post. Cheques should be made payable to British Red Cross and sent to British Red Cross, Japan Tsunami Appeal, Ref: ON2011, Freepost NAT21787, Paisley PA1 1BR.

Alternatively, donations can be made to the Japanese Red Cross through Google’s CRISIS RESPONSE website, which also offers resources and information about the disaster.

Save the Children UK is TAKING ONLINE DONATIONS and credit and debit card donations over the phone. Call +44 (0)20 7012 6400. Lines are open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.
