Subs drummer Jamie Oliver today joined the The Clem Burke Drumming Project.

The Blondie drummer's project is "based on the pursuit of knowledge through the application of scientific principles to the various art forms of drumming. It is committed to the dissemination of information leading to increased enjoyment, health and well-being of all participants involved in drumming..."

Jamie went to Gloucester University today to take part and had this to say:

"Turns out I lost 2% of my overall body weight in an hour of drumming, sweating out about 1.6 litres. Pretty amazing really. When I get back from Japan I will be having a brain scan and doing more tests with the CBDP. Exciting!!!"

26 April 2012 Facebook update from Jamie:

"Cool, so the Clem Burke Drumming Project scientists are coming to monitor me LIVE at the 100 club show next month on the 17th. They will be monitoring heart rate, lactic acid in the blood, core temperature using an edible radio transmitting thermometer which will send a signal to a thermal receiver which will be placed on my body, and they will also be measuring my weight before and after the show. If you're interested then come down to see what's going on. May 17th @ the 100 club, London.
Now the bad news is I'll have to strip down to me undies in front of everyone to get on the scales :/ "
