  • PETE DAVIES NEWS - RED MECCA & THE STRAPS

Ex-Subs drummer Pete Davies, who has just released with Charlie a new 7" as 'Charlie's Harbour Rats' has a few gigs coming up this month. First off he re-joins The Straps for their slot at the Punk By The Sea Festival on Saturday 16th June, and then Pete has a couple of gigs to play with "a local (Harleston) energetic rock covers band called Red Mecca, who have been around for about 20 years."
Pete has been busy rehearsing with Red Mecca of late, building up their setlist, which includes 'Chelsea Dagger', 'Born To Be Wild', 'Tie Your Mother Down', 'Rock N Roll', 'If The Kids Are United', 'Blitzkreig Bop' and 'Basket Case'. Pete also revealed that the Subs classic 'I Live In A Car' was rehearsed recently.

Red Mecca are: Sibo - Vocals, Muff - Bass, Muttley - Guitar, Biscuit - Guitar and Pete Davies - Drums with a 'ghost member' - Stan the man!

Red Mecca will be playing at Bunwell South in Norfolk on Saturday 23rd June for the Harleston Young Farmers Do, which is open to all and then they appear at The Red Lion in Needham, South Norfolk on Sunday 24th June, this time it's a Bikers Do, again open to all.
