The following new story appeared on the T&M homepage:

The U.K. Subs have today sent out an announcement via e-mail to all fans registered with their uksubs.co.uk mailing list, as well as via their official Facebook page, that the band intend to record a brand new EP, set to be released in November 2018.

The announcement was made as follows:

Hi all,
In August 2018 we will embark upon the recording of a new UK Subs project which will take the form of a brand new 5 track EP.
As you will know, our previous two offerings were released in association with our friends at Pledge Music. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Pledge for all of their efforts throughout our last two (very successful) campaigns.
However, in the spirit of always striving to do something new and different, this time around we have decided to go it alone and put out the first ever fully independent release in the history of the UK Subs. We’ll be operating as our own record label ‘Subversive UK Records’, self-publishing, as well as handling every single aspect of the production, design, manufacture and delivery of the record from start to finish. We’ll even be dealing with customer questions and queries ourselves (and hopefully not too many complaints!)
It’s an exciting but daunting task and one that involves a hell of a lot of hard work and dedication from our side. But we feel this is the most DIY, most punk rock way we can bring new music to you without compromise. Ultimately though, we need your support more than ever.
We are taking pre-sales via our secure online store at www.uksubs.co.uk/store. Once preordered, you will be added to a special exclusive mailing list which we’ll use to keep you in the loop with regular updates and exclusive content sent directly to your inbox, much like our previous campaigns.
So what’s on offer? Well, due to the sheer scale of the project, we want to keep this release as simple as possible. Therefore, the EP, as of yet untitled, will come on a 12” splattered colour vinyl with a CD attached, limited to the duration of the campaign. For the vinyl purist, a black vinyl will also be available but won’t come with the CD. There will also be an exclusive Tshirt in a number of colour ways as well as an exclusive enamel badge, test pressings and all kinds of things. Plus of course we will have the official launch party at the Queens Hall, Nuneaton in November, which is always a riot!
We’re super excited for this project and we hope you will be too. Head over to www.uksubs.co.uk/store to check it all out.
Much love, Charlie, Alvin, Steve and Jamie."

Bonus track information:
As part of our musical submissions for the forthcoming UK Subs’ EP we have decided to re-record a song that was a single for us back in 1981: ‘Keep on Running.’ The thinking behind this revisit is twofold. A number of people have asked us what album this track resides on, the answer being of course that ‘Keep on Running’ does not appear on any Subs’ LP and is only available in the original 45 rpm vinyl format from ‘81. This is not always easy to obtain, so by making it available on the EP it will be accessible to all those who like the song while simultaneously saving them the effort of having to source it from record dealers online. Secondly, when Alvin Gibbs originally wrote the music it sounded quite different from what ended up on the record. Alvin’s original version was more Johnny Thunders than the Police – it was Nicky Garratt who wanted a more polished sound and so inserted the ‘Message in a Bottle’ style picking guitar that you can hear throughout the primary cut. We therefore intend to record a version that is closer to Alvin’s original vision of how the songs should have sounded – rawer and more ’77 Punk rock than 1980’s New Wave. We hope you’ll agree this will make a very interesting addition to our impending EP release."
