Second single release for Gem, recorded at Kingsway with John McCoy. A remix of the version on Another Kind Of Blues with slightly more radio friendly lyrics (no "piss it in your ear" on the BBC thank you!) plus two brand new tracks on the b-side, rushed out to promote the album.
The cover features Paul and Steve Slack's sister Joanne (AKA Sindy Yob who also ran the official fan club)
You can also see Pete Davies' leg sticking out from behind the hoarding on the left hand side (he was dating Jo at the time).

The single produced the Subs' second top thirty hit, entering the UK top 100 on the 8th of September 1979, staying there for 6 weeks, peaking at number 28 (Source: Guinness British Hit Singles 11th edition). Again they performed on Top Of The Pops.

Only pressed on blue vinyl and all with a picture sleeve* (if there are black vinyl copies then they're the rarest Subs release ever!) There are at least twenty copies on ebay at any one time (usually very optimistically described as rare or even mega-rare). Gem probably over-estimated how well it would sell -based on sales of Stranglehold which charted higher and for longer. As a result they pressed too many!

*There are two types of sleeve for this release. A stiff card one as well as a thinner paper sleeve, with the former being the more commonplace.
